Flame tree flowers in MtLawleyShire

Yes – the flowers are opening.  No, I cannot resist photographing them.

Birds are not visiting yet, except for one lot.  But soon, I hope the honeyeaters flock to the scarlet offerings of nectar.

Beginning to open:

More definitely there:

Against the deep blue of a dersert winter sky:

flame tree_4  flame tree_6

the symphony of fire begins:

flame tree_2

Soon, the symphony of scarlet flame will cover the whole tree & it will be full of nectar-loving birds.

I can barely wait!

Gorgeous shots Keira! Love the shadows in the last one.

    • thanks 🙂 It’s hard to go wrong with the flame tree flowers. Expect more over the next few months. And then the tree itself will seem aflame. I must take a photo of the trees tehmselves as they’re mostly bud and ancient leaf – not heaps of flowers yet.

    • They are beautiful colours Nia, & thank you for commenting on the composition. These flowers lend themselves to striking compositions 🙂
I did get your email but have only recently arrived home from work. I hope to have a chance to look into it tomorrow.

is it not too early for this to happen.??? Lovely captures… just seems early to me…

    • glad you like em, and no – last year was earlier. I make it look like there’s a lot of flowers, but there aren’t yet – I should’ve include a shot of the whole tree. There are just ripples, skirting edges and dollops of colour and there are still leaves on the tree. But it’s been very cold (for Perth) – a week of nights near ) with frosts in open areas (not that I’ve seen any). It is the middle of winter. This is when they flower
