Yes, I am studying, but damn it – that flower is still flowering, my cat is still gorgeous and we (finally) had some rain – & a storm!
First, the zygocactus: I have tried for different angles, but it’s difficult and I’ve had varying success 🙂
Not all the flowers are out yet, but there are enough now to take more than one flower in a photo:
Gum nuts on an old gum and another with lovely flowers
Daisies and a small white flower on a bush – highly perfumed.
a wall covered in brilliant orange-flowering creeper
Young trees in the car park. reaching up to sunset light – & the last one is a lemon-scented gum, young and lovely.

snatches of rainbow after the storm with its welcome rain
and sunset moving into the aftermath
& finally, 2 portraits of kitty – one made glossy by the strong sunlight (& she was full of purrs), the other – the dark hunter. She was intent on a little lizard – & I caught the little lizard so saved it from her great plushie-paws. She didn’t really mind 🙂

& I got some good photos of clouds from the storms. I was OK, lots of rain which was great. It was a taste of real winter 🙂 And considering the daffodils are already flowering in Hyde Park, that tells you we need our winter!

Keira, hi! Good to see your world looking beautiful still, and everything in order, except the Venustus – yours is very early isn’t it, considering you’ve only had a week of cold weather? It’s past 2 – brain and eyes say go to bed but first greetings and best wishes for the weeks work ahead;).

HEllo 🙂 Glad you liked the pics, & yes, everything’s out of order. 24 today and nights not particularly cold until just before 7 when it will tke a dip to just below 10 before scooting up again. Hopefully are getting more than 1 week of cold weather! Now back to work pour moi 🙂

Gorgeous photos as usual! We used to have a hedge covered with that orange Flame vine, when we lived in the hills! Doesn’t do as well here in the heat.

Thank you 🙂 Flame vine – I never knew its name. It’s not been all that cold apart from a couple of night last week, but hopefully it won’t go over 25. Today’s 24, low 20’s for the rest of the week and probably too cloudy for the Transit of Venus – damn it! And you’d have heaps of other glowing greenery where you are wandering. Your last post said Turkey.

What gorgeous pictures! Especially taken with the scattered, shattered rainbow clouds! What magic! And the flowers! And of course Cat, Mistress of all she surveys…In fact, pretty envious of the lemon scented eucalyptus, too – I could have bought one for my garden, but chose a normal gum tree in the end because it is supposed to be sturdier…I’m so glad you’ve had some rain, at last!

Thanks 🙂 Perth didn’t get that much, further down south got drenched, which is great, but we’re getting thirsty up here. No rain till later this week, and I don’t think they’re predicting anything really major. It was a very dry and warm May despite 3 really cold nights.
Glad you liked the pics – I’m still taking heaps, but not posting – it takes soooo long & I really have to get some work done on this PhD. But I will be posting every now & then….too many flowers, trees, sunsets….& cat 🙂
Lemon scenteds are beautiful, but very very very large. And drop their limbs apropos of absolutely nothing. You’d need a large garden. Same with ghost gums – beautiful and striking, and huge. What kind did you get?

I’m glad you liked the scattering of photos, Nia. And when that climber is in full flower, the orange one, it is amazing. There used to be a lot more of this plant around Mt Lawley Shire, but this is the only one I have seen in a long time.
And yes, the photos of my fluffy kitty came out well.
