Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun

It’s a difficult thing to do, in the harsh light of Perth, to face into the sun & take a photo, but I managed… which is more than I can say for pingbacks & figuring out blogrolls….that semanta thing isn’t working :-(

Sunlight through foliage:

Through trees:

on water:

And finally: Bushfire sun, not long before sunset and the only time it was visible all day through the smoke.

I’m going over a few of your older posts, how did you manage to sneak this one past me? Beautiful

  2. Nice collection. The double sun on the lake is cool. In the first photo just the sun looks like a flower with its flare. But the flare is almost in every photo, sometimes too much though, did it deliberate?
    Good job.

You may not have mastered the Zemanta thing but you sure did hit the pingback jackpot!

Cool… You did a good job!
Okay, about Zemanta: First open your post and switch to VISUAL mode not HTML mode. Scroll down right and as long as Zemanta is activated on your blog (check your settings) you’ll be able to see a list of recommended posts, just click and add blogs on the same topic to yours for ping-backs.
Now the secret to that long list of blogs you see on some of mine and others? We add them manually by mirroring the code Zemanta adds to our blogs… That is I copy your link, go to my post, create a space or line, copy one of the posts already added by Zemanta, add it to my list, change the link to yours, add your name in the parenthesis and voila! Yes, it takes work and I wish all who get added would appreciate it! :-(
Another easy way to do this? Go to say my post for last week on two subjects, copy all the links added, come back to your post on same, open your post, select VISUAL mode, add the links you copied to the bottom of your blog post or wherever you wish to add it and hit the update button and voila, without any extra work you’ve got it all. Hope this helped. If you are nervous, try it out on a blank post page first. Good luck. :-)

Okay you need the code. I will add a few lines to help you but copy them from the html version you see in your admin backdoor and follow the steps I gave you… it should work. I added the top part, 2 posts and the closing code. All you do is copy and place what’s here in your blog post. Then, you can copy the two links below multiple times and paste them in your post and then add other links to the copies… Make sure you only replace a link exactly with another one. Don’t delete those quote marks ” ___” or any other part of the code. :-)

Oh, and go into settings to activate your Zemanta if it is not showing up when you switch to visual mode on a new post page. :-)

    • Thank you, Nia – though they are all just before sunset :-) I can’t see sunset in my beloved Hyde Park, it is set in a hollow as the land falls down towards the ponds which are part of the ground water system of Perth and some of the only remnants of a swamp that used to run for many miles.
